ABOUT ABOUT
The Missa Gaia (Earth Mass) concert, a contemporary, uplifting celebration of Mother Earth, features the combined choirs of the Unitarian Universalist church communities in Philadelphia and Mt. Airy, as well as guest musicians Kenny Ulansey (Best of Philly dance band) on sax, keyboard virtuoso Dave Posmontier, Steve Beskrone on bass, and Jim Hamilton on percussion. The recorded "voices" of wolf, whale, and loon are also heard in this rhythmic, joyous music traditionally performed at the Winter Solstice.

Under the direction of Jennifer Hayman, music director at First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia, and Jane Hulting, music director at the UU Church of the Restoration in Mt. Airy, Missa Gaia is a masterpiece from the Paul Winter Consort, composed in 1980 as a contemporary ecumenical mass.

A reception with refreshments will follow.
